With just a few ingredients and a couple minutes of rolling, you have a tray full of salty, cheesy, addictive sausage balls on the table for all to enjoy. Whether they're eaten for a quick breakfast bite, as an easy party appetizer, or as a poppable snack anytime of day, these sausage balls are sure to satisfy everyone's savory cravings. It’s like a delicious sausage biscuit, but in bite-sized form! Served up with a sweet and tangy honey mustard dipping sauce, it’s impossible to just eat one.

What are sausage balls?

The basic ingredients for sausage balls are raw sausage, shredded cheese, and Bisquik pancake mix. While there is no knocking the original, this recipe takes these simple components and makes them even tastier! While pancake mix is a convenient pantry item, you can easily recreate the magic with good ol’ all-purpose flour and baking powder. Using Creole seasoning or seasoned salt makes these sausage balls total flavor bombs! And is there anything that cream cheese can’t improve? The answer is know, and these are proof. Cream cheese provides a bit of liquid, fat, and addictive flavor to hold these sausage balls together. Finally, a bit of green onion lends flavor and a welcome hint of green!

What do you serve with sausage balls?

This recipe comes with an easy honey mustard dipping sauce, but there are so many other dips and sauces that these would be great with! Ranch dressing, burger sauce, tzatziki, or even warm country gravy would be delicious with these savory bites.

Can sausage balls be made ahead?

Making a big batch of sausage balls is a great way to meal prep snacks and breakfasts. Fully cooked sausage balls will keep in the freezer for up to 2 months. Simply take the desired amount out of the freezer and microwave them for 1 to 2 minutes until sizzling. They can also be baked or air-fried at 350 degrees for 10 to 15 minutes until sizzling.
